Serrano tennis team edges Victor Valley on games

VICTORVILLE - With fierce winds dominating play, the Serrano tennis team came away with a win against Victor Valley 9-9 (80-75) in a match decided on games.
The Diamondbacks improved to 7-0 on the season with the nonleague victory. Serrano’s three singles players — Sam Sussman, Peter Turrill and Evan Nelson - each won two of three sets. Jordan Sorreano swept three sets at No. 1 singles for the Jackrabbits.
SERRANO SINGLES Sussman 4-6, 6-0, 6-0; Turrill 2-6, 6-0, 6-2; Nelson 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-3.
SERRANO DOUBLES Orescanin-Luong 1-6, 6-4, 3-6; Long-Tate 7-6 (10), 6-3, 2-6; Pickens-Lee 1-6, Pickens-Whitson 3-6, 3-6.
VICTOR VALLEY SINGLES Sorreano 6-4, 6-2, 7-6 (5); Grive 0-6, 0-6, 2-6; McKellar 0-6, 2-6, 3-6.
